The International Political Economy Society (IPES) provides an annual forum for scholars of IPE to present their best new work in progress to an informed and critical scholarly audience. The annual conference is centered on a small number (approximately 75 each year) of carefully screened and selected papers.

Authors Cameron Ballard-Rosa (University of North Carolina), Mashail Malik (Stanford University), Stephanie Rickard (London School of Economics), and Kenneth Scheve (Stanford University), won the David A. Lake Award for Best Paper presented at the 2017 conference for their paper, "3528056885."

At the 2018 conference, Rachel Wellhausen (University of Texas at Austin) will be awarded our prize for the best new book for The Shield of Nationality: When Governments Break Contracts with Foreign Firms (Cambridge University Press 2015).
